MACWHIRTER WELSH LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
Haverfordwest County and Ton Pentre remain inseparable at the top of the Welsh League after an the two early-season pacesetters played out a goalless draw at the Conygar Bridge Meadow stadium. AFC Porth, third, on are maximum points from their two games. Three second-half strikes gave the Dinas Park side a 3-0 win over Pontardawe Town with Shane Davies crashing in a free-kick of the crossbar to seal the points. Simon Prangley continued his good form to ensure Taff’s Well also remain unbeaten, hitting two without reply against Tata Steel. Goytre United picked up their first points of the season with a 3-0 win at Bryntirion, leaving Francis Ford’s charges rooted to the foot of the table.

HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE
Mel McGuiness scored the first goal of the new Huws Gray Alliance season on Friday night as newly promoted Holyhead Hotspur went in front at Conwy Borough through a first-half penalty, before Borough’s Mark Jones and Tom McGill struck twice in ten second-half minutes to leave the Harbourmen empty-handed on their return to the second-tier. Rhyl and Ruthin Town are the early leaders after emphatic 5-0 wins against Guilsfield and Rhydymwyn respectively, and Porthmadog fought back twice to earn a 2-2 draw at Llandudno. Josh Wood’s late equaliser saw Llanrhaeadr force a credible 2-2 draw with title hopefuls Cefn Druids.

Leader’s Goytre won their third successive game after a dramatic 4-3 win at Caerau and Garden Village move into second with seven points following their 2-1 victory away to Undy Athletic. There were goals aplenty through the division, with Caerau (Ely) winning 6-1 and Briton Ferry Llansawel and Dinas Powys both also recording 4-3 wins.
