MACWHIRTER WELSH LEAGUE DIV ONE
AFC Porth went top of the pile in Division One after taking all three points in the Rhonnda derby against neighbours Ton Pentre. A Shane Davies free-kick on the stroke of half-time settled the points at Dinas Road, as Porth go two points clear with 13 points from five games. Cambrian & Clydach, second, lost ground after being held at Aberdare Town. Daniel Lever had fired Cambrian into a twelfth minute lead but John Ross-Phillips restored parity in the second-half to earn Town a credible point. Haverfordwest remain in third after Lee Bevan, Chris Holloway and Steffan Williams fired County to a 3-2 win over Barry Town. Bryntirion notched their third straight win after seeing off Monmouth Town 2-1. Goytre United and Tata Steel fill the bottom two places after playing out a goalless draw on Friday night.

HUWS GRAY ALLIANCE
Rhyl staged a second-half comeback to return to the top of Huws Gray Alliance, after Paul McManus (pen) and Mark Evans cancelled out Phil Lloyd’s opener for Flint, as the Lilywhites maintained their 100% record. The win puts Rhyl back above Cefn Druids, who picked up a 2-1 win over Porthmadog at the Rock on Friday night, with Gareth Edwards sealing the win to leave Port with just one win from their first four games. Sion Meredith’s brace helped Penrhyncoch up into third, with a 3-1 win over Penycae. Rhydymwyn faced a nervy second-half before claiming their first win of the season at home to Rhayader, as two of the league’s newly promoted sides clashed at Dolfechlas Road. Three first-half goals gave the hosts a commanding lead but Rhayader replied twice after the restart, with Luke Evan’s 85th strike ensuring a tense finale.

Goytre made it six wins from six to maintain their four point lead at the top of Division Two, after a 2-0 win over Ely Rangers. Dinas Powys continue to lead the chasing pack following their 7-1 thrashing over sorry Cardiff Corinthians, who remain without a single point following their relegation from Division One last term. Cwmaman Institute, who also joined the Corries from Division One, are faring no better – they were handed a 3-0 reverse at Undy Athletic to remain bottom.

Llanidloes top the Spar Mid-Wales league on goal difference after a defeat to third-placed Aberaeron quashed their three-point lead. Four Crosses, who have a game in hand on Llanidloes, recorded their fourth win on the trot at the expense of basement side Dyffryn Banw, running out 3-1 winners. Berriew thumped lowly Dolgellau, 6-1.

Saltney Town’s 5-0 victory at Llangollen means it’s neck-and-neck at the top of the Welsh National League with Saltney, Coedpoeth and Chirk now all level on ten points but separated on goal difference. Hawarden and Overton remain fourth and fifth, each with nine points, after recording wins over Corwen and Venture respectively.
