Welsh League and Cymru Alliance wrap and results: Nagi strike keeps Barry top; Buckley stun leaders Rhyl

Barry Town have opened up a two-point gap at the top of the Welsh League. A single goal from Anthony Nagi was enough to give Barry a fourth-straight league win. against a gutsy Tata Steel side, who remain bottom of the table. Cambrian & Clydach lead the chasing pack with in a routine 3-0 win over Bryntirion Athletic. Taff’s Well came from a goal behind to take a share of the spoils against Aberdare Town. Goytre United lifted the gloom over Glenhafod Park as they finally moved out of bottom two after picking up a 4-1 win over Ton Pentre, leap-fogging Cwmbran Celtic in the process. Celtic fell to 7-2 home defeat to in-form West End, who rally up into fourth spot.

Two goals in eight second-half minutes from Derek Taylor finally ended Rhyl’s 100% record as mid-table Buckley Town clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to take a share of the spoils at Globe Way. Second placed Cefn Druids closed the gap on the league leaders to five points following a 2-1 win at Ruthin Town. Caersws made it five wins from five and move into third, and a point behind Druids, as the Bluebirds eased past Holyhead Hotspur 5-0. Lee Davey scored twice for Conwy Borough to condemn Penrhyncoch to a third straight league defeat. Guilsfield edged past Rhayader Town 4-3 thanks to Will Thomas’ last-minute winner. Porthmadog remain bottom, despite picking up a much-needed 3-1 win at Flint Town United to ease the pressure off manager Gareth Parry.

Goytre continue their dominance in Division Two after edging past Garden Village by a single goal. The Monmouthshire side are now 8 points clear at the top of the table after Dinas Powys were again forced to settle for a point, this time held 1-1 at Newport YMCA. Ben Lawrence rescued a point for the hosts with both sides finishing with ten men.
