THE SECOND semi-final of the Nathaniel Carl Sales League Cup was postponed last night following floodlight failure at Cambrian & Clydach’s King George field.
Llanwern and Taffs Well were due to face each other in a 7pm kick-off until floodlights failed shortly before kick-off.
A 45-minute delay ensued before the match official finally called the game off at 8:10pm.
Following a toin coss, Llanwern will host the rearranged fixture at an unconfirmed date.
“Both Clubs were disappointed but no blame can be attached to Cambrian who had worked wonders to get the pitch rolled for us beforehand,” said Llanwern manager Gareth Morgan.
The winners of the tie will meet Bryntirion Athletic in the final.
WELSH LEAGUE STALEMATE
The Division One fixture between Aberdare and Bridgend did go ahead however, with the two teams playing out a 0-0 draw.
